It’s me, hi. I’m Hannah + before you get to know me as a photographer - here is a little about me as a person.

I live in the upstate of South Carolina with my husband Kyle and our highly energetic and wildly spoiled pug Enzo. When we aren’t being homebodies we love traveling + hiking (so far we’ve done 19 out of the 63 national parks), going on walks with Enzo, a good coffee shop (i’m a big matcha girly), and just spending time with our favorite people.

I am a (mediocre) runner, an occasional concert goer, and usually the loudest person at family game nights. I have big big emotions - and I am a hopeless romantic at heart, I will 100% cry at your wedding. I am a die hard swiftie, I love a good documentary, and trashy reality tv.

I am a big fan of speaking openly about mental health + therapy. I am a passionate in advocating for human rights. I am a big believer in being a good human, showing compassion + remembering that we are all just out here doing our best.

here’s a few of my favorite little cellphone pics of life beyond my camera.

Who I am as a photographer

I have loved photography most of my life, I don’t really remember a time when I didn’t have a camera in hand. My passion for photography and my purpose in preserving memories took on a whole new meaning a few years ago after losing a person who I loved deeply. What I know to be true is that life is too short, and one day the people love will leave this earth and all we will have to remember them by are the photographs that they are in - and the memories that those photos bring back. The magnitude of my job + the role that I play in creating those photos for my clients is never lost on me. It’s an honor to do what I do, and I take great pride and responsibility in it - your memories are safe with me.

MY APPROACH:

I have a documentary approach - while still taking the time to make sure we get the “formal” photos that are important to you. On wedding days I like to take a step back and give you space to be you so that true candid moments can be captured. I consider photography to be the art of observing - observing the little details, the in between moments, and the moments that unfold around you without you even knowing. But don’t worry - I won’t leave you hanging to figure it out on your own. I will still be guiding and prompting you throughout your session - but always leaving enough space to let you be you.

WHAT INSPIRES ME:

I truly believe inspiration can be drawn from everything around us. I find great inspiration in literature and music. old film photography, rugged landscapes, experiencing new cultures, and traveling. I am inspired by art - sculptures, Van Gogh’s works, and music videos. I am inspired by the richness in sunsets, deep laughter, the feeling you get at concerts being surrounded by thousands of people all getting lost in the music together, and human connection. My greatest inspiration has been, and will always be the way my grandparent’s loved each other. My goal will always be to document your love so it is as tangible as theirs was.

WE MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF:

- real moments are more important to you than stiffly posed smiles
- you are down to try new things, get creative and let your photos be unique to you
- you want a more documentary, candid approach to your images
- you can envision yourself in my photographs
- the moments captured are more important to you than the “edit”"
